The oldest and simplest ion exchange technology, water softening can be defined as the removal of Calcium and Magnesium from water. Water softening resins are easily fouled by metals and can be damaged by chlorine levels as low as 0.3 ppm Soft water is usually recognized by it’s distinctive slimy feel and soda taste.

Conditioning
True conditioning technology mandates that the water treatment system not only addresses Calcium & Magnesium contaminants in water, but also metallic contaminants such as iron, zinc, lead, nickel and copper that can seriously compromise the performance of a traditional water softener. True conditioning systems incorporate high efficiency resins that are able to clean properly through the use of a systemic activator like Pur-Gard. Conditioners are also highly resistant to chlorine attrition.
